Aviles is a litigator, trial attorney and team leader in the legal department of Con Edison, the public utility that provides the New York City metropolitan area with electric, natural gas and steam services. Joining Con Edison in 2007, Alex provides counsel to and defends the company in high exposure litigation in the state and federal courts and heads a team of litigators handling cases throughout the City of New York and Westchester County.
Prior to joining Con Edison, he spent 16 years litigating civil cases at private New York City law firms, both prosecuting actions on behalf of individuals against corporations and municipal entities as well as defending insurance carriers and their insureds.
A native New Yorker, Alex was born in Harlem and raised in the Bronx. He graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism and political science and earned the Juris Doctor degree at St. John’s University School of Law. Alex and his wife, Janine, are the proud parents of two children.
