Gale Nelson serves as the President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, leading the organization since 2018 with a focus on enhancing donor and community engagement while expanding programs to include digital literacy, health and wellness, the arts, academic enrichment, and career pathways training.

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Gale holds a Bachelor’s in Corporate Finance from the University of Toledo and a Master’s in Management and Administration of Educational Programs from Nova Southeastern University. He has over 30 years of nonprofit leadership experience and has been instrumental in the growth and success of BBBS Miami since joining in 2006, guiding the agency to win multiple national awards, including the Agency of the Year Award (2021) and the National Pinnacle Award for four consecutive years (2019–2022).

Gale’s accomplishments include membership in the Orange Bowl Committee (2023), the Irvin F. Westheimer Visionary Leadership Award (2022), and the South Florida Business Journal’s Ultimate CEO Honoree (2021). He has completed leadership programs at Boston College and Harvard Business School.

A skilled public speaker and strategist, Gale remains deeply committed to empowering youth and families, guided by his faith and family values.
