Dr. Alexander, born in Pittsburgh, holds a B.S. in Education, an MS. Ed. & K-12 School Counseling certification, and a PhD in Counseling and Supervision from Duquesne University. Her research focuses on diverse populations, collective trauma in the Black community, body image, and Black feminism. A presenter at national conferences and local organizations, Dr. Alexander served as NAACP chapter president and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She's a contributing author to counseling books, received teaching awards, and is a 2021 awardee for Black Excellence in Education. As a School Counselor and founder of LegAAcy, she educates on mental health, trauma, and equity. Dr. Alexander's impactful dissertation on transgenerational trauma is widely referenced globally.
